Another Stamp Club

Tuesday, April 30, 2013
I am not an official member of a monthly stamp club. It's pretty exciting... I KNOW. A woman named Jackie is a Stamp'In up representative and hosts the gatherings. She has an amazing craft room, with organization that would make Martha Stewart jealous. One day, one day ... :)

This was a unique "bonus" project.

It holds a wrapped chocolate! I gave it to my administrative assistant on admin appreciation day. (She is seriously the best admin I've ever worked with!!)

iPhone Round-Up

Monday, April 29, 2013
Here's some (pup) iphone pictures for your viewing entertainment!

I'm pretty sure Sierra's pup Dax is the size of Roma's head.

When Ross is away, Roma gets Dad's spot on the bed.

Roma loves to sunbathe, Alaska style.

Caramelized Onion, Mushroom, & Gruyere Quiche

Sunday, April 28, 2013
I asked Mom to send me a couple recipes because I was in the "recipe doldrums".  She sent me a few good ones, including this recipe for Caramelized Onion, Mushroom, and Gruyere Quiche. It is recipe from one of my favorite healthy eating Food Network Chefs (Ellie Krieger), which was even more incentive to try it out.

The homemade oat crust is simple and tastes great, despite the short ingredient list. And let's be honest- mushrooms, cheese, and eggs are a winning combination and always taste pretty delicious. I plan to make again and add a bit more cheese :)

Food Truck Thursdays

Thursday, April 25, 2013
There's a Food Truck movement in Anchorage! You have to understand, trends that hit the "Lower 48" take a little longer to reach Alaska :) So there's a "food truck carnival" every Thursday in a designated parking lot. A group of people met to check it out today and I think we were all surprised how good the food was. It may have been a little chilly due to the wind and we may have had to wait a little while for the food, but it was good food!

There were 4 trucks in the lot today

THE place for cupcakes

Pineapple Curry Beef Skewer

Kimchi

Kim decided to into the cupcakes before the food was ready :)

Reindeer Sausage Wrap, the tortilla was so good!!

Red Velvet, Snickerdoodle, Chocolate Chip Cookie, and Heath (gone already). My mouth was drooling over Kim's Fudge Brownie so next time I'm gonna try that one!

From the old links below, I realized that Ross and I were in South Africa with Robbie and Steph a year ago. What an amazing trip!!!

Dad's BP MS 150 Ride

Monday, April 22, 2013
I'm so proud of my Dad for completing the BP MS 150 last weekend! He made the ride from Houston to Austin for yet another year!!! (5 now, right Dad?)

You know it's cool outside when Dad wears his "sleeves"

I have a love/hate relationship with riding, but now that I can't do it near as much I really miss it. There's nothing like a nice ride on a beautiful day. But, you can have those rainy days or the days you have to wake up at the crack of dawn to ride.

When I graduated from UT, my parents gave me my Cannondale. I still have it and love it today! Here's a picture from my first MS 150 in 2007 At the time, Ross was in Egypt and Mom/Jeff were still in PA, so Dad and I had lots of father/daughter biking bonding time.

Then, the next year (2008) we did the ride as a trio: Dad, Ross, & Liz-- so funny. Well, actually the head winds that first day of the ride really weren't very funny, but the stories afterwards were!

Of course Dad was rider number 4- FOURTEEN!

When we move back to Houston, I hope we can ride together again. These gentlemen both really need me to draft off of... :)
