It sounded like there was a pretty successful "October Work Weekend' that occurred last week... A big thanks to Mom & Dad Huebel, Dad Aldrich, Brandon, and Mike & Susie Ray. The bunkhouse is well on it's way!
Here's some commentary from my Dad:
It's incredible the great work that Dad Huebel (and Mom Huebel and Brandon and Mike Ray) are doing on the bunkhouse. You and Adam will be in for quite a treat when you arrive for your hunt. One of the neat things of the weekend was getting to know Brandon, as you know he's a real nice guy. I enjoyed riding around to the stands/feeders with him, then firing off some of his "hardware".
One of the jobs Brandon and I had was filling the four feeders with corn, setting the timing mechanisms and cleaning out the stands. So when we arrived at the "elevated" stand, Brandon climbs up and peers into it and says, "looks like a raccoon might have been up here". I ask from the ground, "what kind of indications are there that a critter was up there?". He replies, "why don't you take a look?". So he gets down and I climb up and see the blind floor absolutely covered in raccoon turds and say "you are correct Brandon, it certainly appears that
something could have got up here !!!???" What a mess! Brandon went back up to take picture for Ross.

When Brandon and I arrived at the "double" blind, he went inside to sweep it out while I walked to the feeder to see if there is any evidence that deer had eaten the corn or nibbled on the protein blocks left earlier in the day. As I walked back, I heard Brandon say "uh-oh, what was that crunching sound?" It was a scorpion that he had just stepped on! Good thing Mr H had some heavy duty bug/scorpion spray which was mixed up and applied the next day.
Electricity in the bunk house is next on the list!
