VOTE

Tuesday, November 2, 2010
Did you cast your ballot today? I can't say that I get too worked up about elections, but I always feel better afterwards (kinda like a 6 mile run, the good feeling comes later...). It is nice to know that we have the privilege to vote, especially because there are so many people who don't have that power.  The lines weren't too bad, which also helps my case. I plan to try early voting the next time around.

On another note, we had 2 native Alaskans over for dinner tonight. We asked them a billion and one questions. A couple things we learned:
*You must say snow machine NOT snow mobile, it's a dead giveaway
*There are no snakes in Alaska
*Skijoring is a sport where a person on skis is pulled by a dog. (Roma is going to love this)
*Alaskans take their shoes off at the door.
*You must find the right spot in the parking lot at work, so that the remote start on your vehicle will work from your window
*You must turn your heat up full blast before you exit the car, so when you remote start later, the car will warm up

We are definitely feeling more and more excited about the big move!
