Self-filling water balloons make a good water balloon afternoon even more simple and accessible on a hot day. Perhaps too simple, when you go through 50 water balloons in under 30 minutes?! [Photos from late June 2021]

Paige Turn(ed) Four

In true 2020 fashion, I'm a few months late posting pictures of Paige's birthday. Our solstice baby turned 4 on June 21!

Paige is such a sweet, happy girl. Fun Facts: P likes to copy anything big sister does (the good and the bad). She likes to vacuum and brush her teeth at the same time as Mommy. P likes to tell Daddy how to drive the jet ski. Breakfast is Paige's favorite meal of the day.

Foam Mat Smiles

Who knew a floating foam mat could be so much fun? These little girls thought it was basically the best thing ever. "Queen of the Foam Mat" anyone?

Meanwhile the daddies had some serious work to do constructing the sailboat lift. The water giggles helped I'm sure. (so did the beer).

Silly Outtake

 So the photographer said something like "Show me silly" and this is what the girls defaulted to..,

Claire is all about surprising people right now and this is the "boo/gotcha" face, whereas Paige is all about "I'm a lion rrrroar" with her hands in a claw shape. This is the kind of picture I can see recreating in 10 years :)

Studio Pictures

We had a studio session with photographer Brandy a few weeks ago. I was skeptical of the dark, moody background, but I absolutely love the final results! It really made the girls sparkle. I usually prefer an outdoor backdrop, but it was fun to change it up and do something different. And cool that we could show off the works of a local Katy TX artist who painted the background.

Take Flight

So a pretty big thing happened over the weekend y'all... we are the proud owners of a SR22 Cirrus airplane! It came to us by way of New Hampshire via Ohio then Indianapolis, but most importantly now in Houston. Ross and a Cirrus instructor flew it down on Saturday and she's a real beauty. We actually weren't able to see the plane beforehand because of Covid, which will make a first time buyer a bit uneasy, but it was even better in person. 

The whole time I've known Ross he has dreamed about owning an airplane :) Now we can do even more family adventuring!

Who knew the simple act of playing in the rain could bring so much joy? And after all, laughter is contagious.  So basically it's what the Dr ordered!

Tie Dye First Day

Some more "First Day of School" pictures! These were taken at 6:30AM and the nuggets look so sleepy. We've definitely had to readjust to an earlier bed time with the transition back to in-person school versus living room school. We've got a first grader and a pre-ker 💛
