Sunsets in "A" Bay

Sunday, February 10, 2013
Ross and I just got back from our Hawaiian Escape. We spent a week on the beautiful island of Hawaii, aka the Big Island. (Just for clarification, the state of Hawaii consists of eight larger islands, the largest is called Hawaii. So you have the state of Hawaii (8 islands) and the island of Hawaii (the biggest of the islands). Got it??!)

We stayed in a condo we found on VRBO (Vacation Rentals By Owner), which was located right on Anaehoomalu Bay, better know as "A" Bay. It was so nice being a short walk from such a great beach. We spent quite a few days lounging on the beach and reading. On our last night we took some dixie cups down to the beach and had an adult beverage while watching the sunset. Pretty much a great happy hour... Gorgeous!

Looking back on our condo property. The pond in the foreground used to provide the royals with fish many many years ago. It's protected, so no fishing there now.

Crooked Palm Trees

The catamaran and "glass bottom boat", both used for tours, were tied off together and anchored in the bay overnight.

Lovey.

Do you see the hard, black lava rock that lines the beach? Don't step on that!

The orange-ish glow on the palm trees was beautiful.

There were a couple guys fishing next to us. They caught a little fish and stowed it in their beer cooler.

Goodbye Hawaii!
