Claire returns!

It’s amazing what a week away at camp can do for a little girl! Claire’s first overnight camp was a success. It sounds like the most dramatic story was that her camp pillow was too small. Oh and that she kept losing things inside her trunk (?!). Already learning the ropes for optimizing farther next year! 

On another note, it took us awhile to comb through that hair when we got home..

Claire Goes to Camp

 It was a big day at our house- we dropped Claire off at an overnight, weeklong summer camp. First time camper alert! I'm not crying, you're crying! Actually no one was crying, but I had lots of mommy anxiety leading up to the event. 

"Did I pack rain boots?"

"Did I remember to show C where her laundry basket is?"

"Does C know how to make a bed?"

"She's totally going to throw her clothes on the floor, I sure hope the floors are clean"

"Will C know how to adjust the shower temperature?"

I think daddies just handle the situation differently. Ross prepared with a nap right up until it was time to load up. At the cabin most of the other daddies had been seconded to the outside porch... too many tiger moms in a small space, haha :)

Meanwhile Paige would have stayed behind if anyone had asked her. She got so proud when someone asked her if she was a camper too. Not this year P, not this year.

Softball Claire

 Here she is... #9 lefty first baseman, Claire Huebel! Claire's walk up song this year has been Maren Morris "The Middle", but we have some better ideas for next year :)

 Claire's softball team played awesome at their playoff game today! So much softball :) Here's some pics of the 2021 Starz team.

Putting Green

 Claire got a set of [lefty] golf clubs for Christmas! We are fortunate to have a generous neighbor with a backyard putting green for access to some quick pre-dinner shots with Dad (and sister, and Ava). 

You know how there's always that "wild card" hole at Putt Putt golf places? The one with a blatant, or perhaps secret, twist. For example a windmill blocking a tunnel or a wind funnel that sets your ball off course? Well Ava is the real life equivalent to the obstacle hole- She thinks the golf balls are hers and goes after each shot. 

Little sisters can also be a wild card :)

Matching Jammies

Dressing the girls in matching outfits makes me so happy, which I'm sure you've noticed :).  However, rare is the day Ross's garb matches the girls. I think it's once a year as a matter of fact- Christmas jammies! Here's some cutie pics of Ross + Claire:

Tie Dye First Day

Some more "First Day of School" pictures! These were taken at 6:30AM and the nuggets look so sleepy. We've definitely had to readjust to an earlier bed time with the transition back to in-person school versus living room school. We've got a first grader and a pre-ker 💛

First Day of School

This morning: Beeeeep Beeeep Beeeep [alarm clock] at 6:15. I get the monitor, ready to tell Claire to wake up and I see her light is already on. "Morning Mommy, is it time to wake-up?" let's check back in a few weeks and still see if we are still waking up with such gusto. 

Paige is so excited to be back at the same school as Claire. Seeesters. Everything is better together. 💜💜
