Kaity and Hunter Got Hitched!!

Our friends Kaity and Hunter got married over the weekend at a beautiful ceremony on top of a mountain in Girdwood, Alaska. It was such a perfect day. Here are some iPhone pictures, more wedding pictures to come.

The Bridesmaids assembled all the flowers on Friday morning. 

There were 4 HUGE boxes of flowers which included pink roses, hydrangea, peonies, and many more!

Deck Happy Hour

We have a new summer activity...

Think lazy and relaxing. We needed a lazy activity with all these long Alaska summer days!

We've been enjoying some wine on our back deck, with beautiful weather, and a nice spread of food. Wish you could join us too!

Roma's Boat Goals

On our second boat outing we had some very specific goals:
         1. Make sure Roma remembers that there's no jumping out of a moving boat
         2. Train Roma not to dive after fishing lures (ie a colorful bobber is not a fetch toy)
         3. Teach her how to swim in cold, fast current

I'd say overall we had a successful trip... Roma never jumped out of the boat without permission first. However, not going after the fishing line each time Ross cast took all of her will power.

There's nothing like eating a picnic lunch on your own private sandbar with eagles overhead and the sound of rushing water all around you :)

Roma's Life Jacket

Due to a late softball game (another W for the D League Whiffle Wackers!) and just returning to Anchorage from a quick weekend trip to Houston, I don't have the energy for much of a post tonight. However, here's a sneak peak at Roma's first ride on our new boat. She's also sporting her new life jacket...

Anchorage Saturday Market

On Saturday mornings, Anchorage has a market on 3rd street which hosts a few dozen booths. You can find local artists, crafts, specialty foods, limited fruits/veggies, jewelry, and lots of food. We took Brandon and Lizette down to the market last weekend before they headed back to Texas.

I bought a couple trinkets, but we also decided that we could make the salmon quesadillas better ourselves. Future meal idea perhaps.

Boat'in and Fish'in

Last weekend Ross's buddy, Brandon, and his gf, Lizette, came to visit. On Friday we took the boat out to try our hand at fishing for Kings on the Deshka river. We failed at catching any fish, but we were able to enjoy the uncharacteristically warm Alaska weather with beautiful scenery all around. We fished next to the Van Patten crew, so we had puppy Nelly to keep us entertained.

Oh Happy Weather!!! We're on a record 8 days of warmth and sunshine... The high today was 88 degrees, the hottest it's been since we moved to Anchorage!

The only thing missing is an air conditioner in our house...
