Thanksgiving

This year has had so many ups and downs, yet we have so much to be thankful for. Today I was truly reminded of this as we decorated for Christmas. As Claire calls it- adding “Christmas spirit” to our house :).  experiencing the holidays through a kids eyes is just the best! Here’s to hoping we can all hold onto that Christmas cheer for the next few weeks.

Bus riders

The girls started riding the bus again last week. Paige thinks she is suuuuuch a big girl riding the bus. It might be their favorite part of the day:) And they get so happy to see puppy girl Ava waiting for them at the bus stop.

Waco

Ross and I went to Waco last weekend for a "just because" trip sans kids curtesy of my parents. Thanks Gigi and pop pop!

Ava is 13 weeks

10.6 pounds of cuteness right here. And it's a good thing because Ava is still 80/20 for going pee pee outside/inside. But I'm so thankful she sleeps through the night like a big girl. Going to continue to work on 1- coming when we call her name, 2- putting ALL potties outside, and 3- not biting/eating everything in site. We also need to work on our little humans being more gentle (headlocks all the time).

Tinys is coming

Tiny Boxwoods is one of my very favorite Houston restaurants on a pretty day. Tinys chocolate chip cookies are my very favorite Houston cookies on any day. So you can imagine how excited I am to learn that they are opening up a "cookies only" shop right around the corner from my house. I'm going to need to start running more. Maybe I'll run to the cookie store?

Bedtime puppy

Paige always asks for bed time puppy snuggles from Ava. But really P just puts Ava in a headlock and kisses the top of her head over and over. It’s all till it’s not. That saying applies to so many things this year doesn’t it?!

The Resistance is Strong

It was a Halloween like none we'd every experienced before, but the reviews from the kids were surprisingly favorable. I guess candy is candy is candy :) We did a "scavenger hunt" in the front yard which bared a lot of resemblance to an Easter egg hunt (minus the eggs). Candy Hunt 2020.

Tortellini Soup

When the weather gets cooler I tend to seek out more and more soup recipes. This particular one, Tortellini Soup, comes together quickly and got 2 thumbs up from the whole family.

Election 2020

 We got our "Voted!" stickers a couple weeks ago, but today is the big day. Taking a cue from our neighbors lawn sign- "Jesus 2020: Our only Hope" :)

On another note, why did multiple neighbors spring for Christmas lights today? It's Nov 3!

Ava + Paige

Paige is obsessed with puppy Ava. She seeks a good morning kiss from Ava first thing and wants a bedtime kiss from Ava at night. Just the cutest to watch. I sure hope we can keep this up beyond the puppy days!

Happiness

We had a fun weekend, with so much outside play time to capitalize on the beautiful weather. Sometimes the impromptu, least-staged photos capture these carefree vibes the best. Paige's laughter + smile + trying to understand what she's saying = 💜
