Ho'opi'i Falls

Here's a summary of the locations that we shot on the Kauai Photography Workshop:

The last stop on the workshop was Ho'opi'i Falls. I was worried because we were running late on our half day excursion and Ross was back at the condo with Claire. But, you can only hike so fast right? It was probably ~2 mile hike down through a beautiful, lush forest to get to the waterfalls. When we finally got down to the falls the photographer leading the expedition disappeared; I figured he was going potty in a bush or something. After about 10 minutes he reappeared and there was ROSS and baby CLAIRE with him. I was so happy! and Claire was so mad! They all surprised me and it was great :) I fed Claire and she calmed down and then we had a nice hike back through the forrest together.

Kauai Landscapes

I have so many pictures from our Hawaii trip that it takes some time to post them all. When I re-look at the pictures it makes me want to go back!

No snow here in Anchorage yet.

Hey Dude

For Halloween #2 Claire dressed up like a cowgirl. We didn't do any trick-or-treating this year, but just hung out at the house with friends.

Pajama Day

A couple weeks ago it was "Pajama Day" at Claire's school. Everyone wore their favorite PJ's and the parents took turns reading books to the babies throughout the day.

The Vine

Have you heard of a Vine before? Here's what wikipedia says:

Vine is a short-form video sharing service. Founded in June 2012, it was acquired by microblogging website Twitter in October 2012, just prior to its official launch. The service allows users to record and edit five to six-second long loopingvideo clips, and revine. Revine is where users can share other peoples posts with followers. 

I've never made a Vine and don't plan to, but the little girl in this video compilation is hilarious. I wonder how old she is??!

8 Month Baby!

We have an 8 month old baby girl now. Miss Claire isn't crawling just yet, but she is scooting on her bum. You'd be surprised how fast this girl can get across the room.

What do you see in this picture?? 2 front teeth!! She had 6 teeth come in at pretty much the same time. 

Miss Denise made Claire some camo slippers, which she loves to take off and munch on.

Remembering Dad Huebel

Just want to take a "pause" to remember Dad (Lee) Huebel today. It's been a year since his passing and we miss him so.

Reflecting on the past year, I've found that sadness has a way of creeping up on you. Maybe it's a song, or a food, or a place that triggers a memory and there's no stopping it.

Ross and I are blessed to have a beautiful baby girl now, but it makes our hearts ache to know that she will never meet her grandfather; he would have loved her so much. I want Dad H to know that there's another girl in the Huebel family and that her name is Claire and that she makes some faces that look just like his and that Claire has a sweet tooth too and that she can scoot across the room and... the list goes on and on.

Life events like this change everyone along the way.  We continue to keep on keep'in on, but it's just not the same without Dad Huebel.

Kauai Waterfalls

Waterfalls, sunsets, and clouds are some of my favorite things to take pictures of (well, besides grey ones and boo bears).

Check out these "soft" waterfall pictures courtesy of a super slow shutter speed. The hike down to the base of this waterfall was intense. We had to jump a fence to get there and at one point we were repelling down a rope ladder with camera gear in tow. It was worth it :)

Back in the woods near the falls, the morning light was creeping into the forest and creating beautiful sunbeams through the trees.

Hippity Hoppity

Claire is now 8 months old...

8 MONTHS, what??!!!

She is booty scooting all over now. It's so cute to watch her get from point A to point B with her cute little bum hop/scoot. So of course she has to be a bunny for Halloween Day 1, aka trick or treat around the office with mom & dad!

Claire had a low grade fever on dress-up day from her teeth coming in. I'm going to try and get a picture of her teeth, but it's fairly difficult to get a pictures inside that little mouth. We can see 7 teeth coming out now!
